Musical Director - Nick Frampton
Nick was born into a family whose love of music shaped his formative
years and the natural progression began formally in the Church Choir
- at the tender age of six. What followed was a fantastic range
of stage, instrumental and choral musical experiences.
In his barbershop career he has been a Musical Director for more
than thirty years serving such choruses as Wight Harmony (twice),
London Pride and Guildford Harmony, before returning to the Island
to take on the Wight Satin Directorship.
A founder member of the Garden Isle BHC (1977) and the West London
BHC (1982); he sang competitively with Grand Slam Quartet for five
years before becoming a member of the British Association of Barbershop
Singers Guild of Judges. Specialising in the Presentation Category
- he has been a former Category Director, Chairman of the Guild
and still continues to be a certificated Judge.
He has been a faculty member of BABS Harmony College, in the Quartet
Coaching Stream and is the current Performance Stream Leader.
In great demand as a judge, coach and workshop educator, he works
with choruses and quartets throughout the UK and undertakes assignments
in Germany, Holland, Scandinavia and Ireland.
Wight Satin are extremely pleased to have Nick as their Musical
Director and his wealth of experience can only assure our future
success.
